Take a night stroll through the vibrant streets of central Tokyo, exploring the Korakuen and Hongo districts near Korakuen Station and Suidobashi Station. This video offers a comprehensive walking tour of areas well-connected by the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, Oedo Line, and the Toei Mita Line, making them easily accessible for visitors and locals alike.
The walk starts at LaQua, a popular spa and shopping complex adjacent to the famous Tokyo Dome City. Tokyo Dome City, one of Tokyo’s most notable entertainment hubs, features an amusement park, sports stadium, restaurants, and shops. As the tour continues, viewers pass by Don Quijote Korakuen, a well-known discount store with a vast selection of goods that’s a staple for late-night shoppers.
The route also includes visits to spiritual and cultural landmarks such as Shusse Inari Shrine, a small but revered local Shinto shrine, and Tokyo Arts and Space Hongo, an art gallery and creative space that frequently hosts contemporary exhibitions. The walk meanders through charming alleyways (roji) and along Ikizaka-dori, a sloping street typical of the Hongo area, rich in historical ambiance. Noteworthy also is the Motomachi Wellness Park, a landscaped park area offering a green respite amidst the urban setting.
Korakuen and Hongo are historically academic and residential neighborhoods, home to longstanding universities and cultural sites. Both areas are easily visited by train, and their close proximity to Tokyo Dome and central Tokyo attractions make them ideal for evening strolls or casual exploration.
