Join a relaxing night walk through one of Osaka’s most recognizable districts—Shinsekai, featuring the historic Tsutenkaku Tower. This immersive walking tour guides viewers through the vibrant streets, capturing the essence of local nightlife with authentic ambient sounds, without narration or background music. The walk starts at Tsutenkaku Tower (通天閣)—a symbol of Osaka since 1912, located in the heart of Shinsekai, and proceeds through nostalgic alleys, passing numerous local shops, eateries, and bustling street food stalls.

Walking through Shinsekai (新世界), visitors are treated to a retro Showa-era atmosphere, famous for its lantern-lit streets and vivid neon signage. The area is renowned for its deep-fried skewers (kushikatsu), classic arcade halls, and unique local bars. The combination of Tsutenkaku’s glowing presence and the bustling streets makes Shinsekai a favorite destination for both tourists and locals wanting to experience Osaka’s downtown character.

Tsutenkaku Tower itself is considered one of the top landmarks in Osaka. Constructed initially in the early 20th century and rebuilt post-war, it rises nearly 103 meters and offers panaromic views of the city from its observation deck. The streets surrounding the tower are alive with local food vendors serving specialties such as takoyaki, kushikatsu, and doteyaki, providing a true taste of Osaka’s street cuisine culture. Walking at night, you can fully take in the unique blend of history and entertainment that defines the Shinsekai area.
