This video takes you on a seat-side journey aboard the Hayabusa 7 on the Tohoku Shinkansen, focusing on the E-seat window views. The trip begins at Sendai Station and travels north through Japan’s scenic Tohoku region, stopping at major stations such as Morioka, Hachinohe, and concluding at Shin-Aomori. Along the way, the train passes through and over several stations including Furukawa, Kurikoma-Kogen, Ichinoseki, Mizusawa-Esashi, Kitakami, and Shin-Hanamaki without stopping, before making a stop at Morioka. The journey continues through Iwate-Numakunai and Ninohe (not stopping), arriving next at Hachinohe. Following this, after passing through Shichinohe-Towada, the train finally reaches its terminus at Shin-Aomori Station.
Travelers will appreciate the smooth and efficient service of the Tohoku Shinkansen, renowned for connecting the Kanto and northern Honshu regions at high speed. The route is known for breathtaking landscapes featuring greenery, rice fields, and distant mountain vistas—visible from the expansive windows for which the E-seat is prized. The journey covers several prefectures: starting in Miyagi (Sendai), through Iwate (Morioka, Mizusawa-Esashi, Kitakami), Aomori (Shin-Aomori), and also stops at significant city centers like Hachinohe in Aomori prefecture.
The Tohoku Shinkansen, operated by JR East, is an essential route for both business travelers and tourists exploring northern Japan. Each station mentioned in the video serves as a hub to access local sightseeing spots, regional cuisine, and cultural points of interest. For instance, Morioka is famous for its noodles (wanko soba, reimen), Hachinohe for its morning market and seafood, and Aomori for its Nebuta festival and apple orchards. Watching through the E-seat window, viewers can virtually experience the peaceful countryside and vibrant urban interludes that characterize this Shinkansen ride.
